Diana Museveni Kyaremera

Diana Museveni Kyaremera, the youngest child of Yoweri Museveni and Janet Museveni, recently turned 46 years old.

She was celebrated by the first family, but it was her mother Janet Museveni who first disclosed the good news on her X (formerly Twitter) account.

Diana is the youngest of four children in Uganda’s First Family. The rest of her siblings are Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Natasha Museveni Karugire, and Patience Rwabwogo.

Being the youngest, Diana was the last to get married. She married a businessman called Geoffrey Kamuntu on 24 July 2004.

Together with Geoffrey, they have three children, one daughter and two sons, though their names are not publicly disclosed.

Surprisingly, their marriage ended in 2022 after about 18 years into the marriage. Following the divorce, she applied to Uganda’s National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) to stop using the surname Kamuntu.

She chose to be known as Diana Museveni Kyaremera, and it is what she is being called to date since the divorce.

Professionally, Diana has been involved in several areas, some of which include managing and supporting some of the Museveni family’s business and conservation interests.

She has also promoted Ugandan tourism and wildlife conservation and has appeared in media interviews discussing conservation and Uganda’s tourism potential.

She also acted in the 2018 Ugandan historical film 27 Guns, where she portrayed her mother, Janet Museveni.

Unlike some members of her family, Diana generally keeps a low public profile, and her divorce did not trend due to her quiet nature.

Today, Diana is focused on her job, which is promoting Uganda’s tourism and conservation sector.
