The death of Kenya’s 3rd Presidetn Mwai Kibaki was announced by State House Friday April 22.
Tributes and eulogies marking his life are being shared and one of those is a Kenyan man who recalled meeting Kibaki when he was 11 years old and challenging the late in a QnA.
Twitter use @005e5N confessed his admiration for the late former President at a London meeting
I don’t normally write inspirational stuff on here as much. But following the news I thought it would be cool to share the story behind this picture.
He added I was 11 years old, at a conference he was speaking at. It was time for questions so I put my hand up. I was picked to ask the last question. My parents were scared but I was READY
I introduced myself, I knew he knew my grandad so I mentioned his name too. And asked him if I was to move back to kenya what would the government be able to help me with in getting a career
In short his answer was don’t look what your country can do for you. But what can you do for your country. And those close to me know that’s the motto I still live by today. I always do my best to help kenya and Kenyans around the world and it’s honestly because of that day
