A day after NTV exposed President William Ruto over his remarks on the construction of affordable houses in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, the station has once again gone after the head of state’s remarks recently made during an interview with Kenya’s local TV stations.

This was after Ruto, while defending the government’s decision to sell KICC among other seven state parastatals, said KICC had made low profits and even losses in recent years.

Ruto claimed that KICC made a partial Ksh29 million in the year 2022 and Ksh40 million in 2021.

“How much money do we get from KICC? last year we got 29 million, the other year we got about I think 40 million. What a waste,” stated Ruto on Sunday during the interview

However, NTV reported that KICC had announced that it had made a double profit of Ksh956 million last year. It also went ahead to reveal that its findings indicate that the same KICC had made a profit of Ksh 516 by June this year contrary to Ruto’s reports

This did not end here. The station also went on a mission to find out what Kenya Pipeline Corporation had made in 2022 as compared to 2023. Contrary to Ruto’s sentiments, the company had reportedly made a profit of 21% as per June 2023.

“KPLC is a company worth Ksh300 billion, however, Kenyans are getting Ksh 200 million to Ksh 300 million from this company every year,” stated Ruto.

However, according to NTV’s findings, the company made a whooping Ksh7.5 billion by June 2023 and Ksh6.2 billion in June 2022 making a profit of 21%
