Famous Ohangla artist Othicho Jasuba is mourning the unfortunate death of one of his dancers, Stephanie, who passed away in a tragic road accident.
The talented dancer, who was part of the popular VRG Band, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident that occurred on Monday, October 6, 2026.
Details of the accident are yet to be fully established, but reports indicate she died while receiving treatment.
In an emotional media post on Tuesday, October 7, 2026, the artist described Steph as a dedicated lady who valued her work and always performed her duties to perfection.
He said her death is a huge blow to the entire VRG Band family.
According to Jasuba, Stephanie was not just a dancer but a core member of the team whose energy, discipline, and passion on stage inspired many fans. He added that Steph featured in some of his hit songs, including “Nyasembo” and “Nyar Yala,” where her captivating dance moves won her many admirers in the Ohangla industry.
“As Team VRG Band, we send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Stephanie, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident,” Jasuba wrote.
“Stephanie was not just a dancer in our team; she was a dedicated and committed member who always took her responsibilities seriously and positively for the benefit of the entire team. Her dedication, energy, and contribution will always be remembered. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
Fans, fellow artists, and members of the Ohangla fraternity have since flooded the comment section with condolence messages, describing Stephanie as a humble and hardworking lady whose star was just beginning to shine.
Burial arrangements are underway as the family prepares to lay her to rest in her rural home.
