Kenyan actor Lenana Kariba has reached a major career milestone after being featured in Bridgerton Season 4, one of Netflix’s most popular global series.

Kariba, of the popular Selina and Auntie Boss show shows, appeared as a Royal Footman, a supporting role within the show’s lavish Regency-era setting.

He said he was bound by confidentiality for nearly a year before he could reveal anything about the role.

“I’m in Bridgerton. So happy to finally be able to say those words after a year of having to stay quiet,” Kariba said on social media.

He described the role as epic and emphasised the honour of working alongside some of international stars and top production teams in the world.

The actor hinted that his presence will be more prominent in the second half of the season, which is set for release in February.

Before his Netflix breakthrough, Kariba had built a solid career in Kenya’s entertainment industry for over a decade.

He first gained recognition in the teen drama Changing Times in 2010 and later appeared in popular TV series such as Lies That Bind, Selina, Saints, Single Kiasi and Auntie Boss.

On the big screen, he featured in notable Kenyan films including House of Lungula (2013), the romantic comedy Plan B (2019), Family Vacation (2024) and Kash Money (2025).

He also previously had a minor role in Netflix’s sci-fi series Sense8, which offered early exposure to international productions.

Kariba’s achievement was officially recognised by the Kenya Film Commission, which congratulated him for representing Kenyan talent on a global platform.

The commission described his appearance in Bridgerton as a proud moment for the country’s creative industry.

Following the recognition, Kariba thanked fans and supporters for the overwhelming encouragement, saying the love motivates him to keep pushing boundaries and flying the Kenyan flag high.

As his role expands in the upcoming episodes, Kariba’s journey continues to inspire many aspiring actors, proving that Kenyan talent can successfully transition from local screens to the global stage

The appearance marks a significant moment not only for Kariba but also for Kenya’s growing presence in international film and television.
