Today in the morning, the president of this country Dr William Samoe Ruto hosted a delegation of leaders from Ukambani region for a consultative meeting at State House ahead of his visit.
As seen from his facebook post, several prominent leaders attended this meeting. The first one is the current cabinet secretary for labour, Dr Alfred Mutua who is the only minister from Ukambani. Another leader is hon Jonathan Mueke, the principal secretary of livestock. Monica Juma was also present during this meeting.
Other leaders are, Nimrod Mbai, Mwengi Mutuse and the women representative of Machakos county among others. The governors and senators of Kitui, Machakos and Makueni county were missing.
Ukambani region which happens to be Kalonzo Musyoka’s stronghold was set to be visited by William Ruto but this visit was postponed for unknown reasons. It is said that Ruto is planning to visit Ukambani very soon on his plans to get the support from the region during the 2027 general elections.
