Lillian Muli has opened up about the principles she believes have helped her remain consistent and relevant in Kenya’s competitive media industry for many years.

Speaking during a Mother’s Day dinner event organized by The Volvo Shop Kenya along Kiambu Road, the Citizen TV anchor shared insights on balancing career, motherhood, and personal stability. The event brought together mothers, professionals, and business leaders for an evening dedicated to celebrating women and their contribution to society.

Muli explained that financial independence and a peaceful home environment have been key pillars in her journey both as a media personality and as a mother of two boys. She emphasized that having financial security allows women to make confident decisions, support their families, and maintain stability even under pressure.

She further encouraged women to stay focused on long-term goals rather than making impulsive emotional decisions, especially in professional environments. According to her, discipline and consistency are essential in building a lasting career.

The journalist also used the platform to highlight the importance of treating domestic workers with dignity and respect. She noted that nannies and house helps play a crucial role in many households by helping raise children, especially when parents are busy with work commitments.

Muli pointed out that many domestic workers often sacrifice time with their own families while helping others, and therefore deserve appreciation and kindness. She urged families to create supportive home environments where everyone feels valued and respected.

The dinner, hosted by CEO Joseph Kibathi and his wife Nessy Mukiri, also emphasized the importance of celebrating women for their sacrifices in shaping families, careers, and the economy.

Muli concluded by encouraging mothers to prioritize peace, financial stability, and mutual respect at home, saying these values are essential in building strong and healthy families.
