A simple meeting inside a nightclub has changed the life of a young Ugandan boy forever.
Kapseret Member of Parliament, Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, recently met 13-year-old Herbert Mukisa during the Timba-XO International Pool Carnival. Herbert, also known as “Dynamite Kid,” was playing pool when Sudi noticed him.
Moved by the boy’s story, Sudi made a big promise. He pledged to sponsor Herbert’s education so the boy would no longer struggle to raise school fees.
Herbert comes from a humble background. To stay in school, he plays pool at events and does small jobs. Sudi said he was touched by Herbert’s passion and determination.
“I am happy to support his education journey,” Sudi wrote on his Facebook page.
Photos shared online show the two playing pool and enjoying each other’s company. One image captures Sudi smiling, while Herbert focuses on the game in the fancy nightclub filled with pool tables.
Kenyans on social media quickly praised the MP for his kindness. Many said his act would inspire other leaders to help talented youth in need.
Pam Mactolo wrote, “This is great. You should do more to discover talent in your own area too.”
Others said Herbert’s story shows that dreams are possible, even from the toughest beginnings.
Interestingly, Sudi himself once admitted he never attended school. Yet now, he’s supporting a child to get the chance he never had.
For Herbert, that night at the nightclub might be the start of a new chapter—one full of hope, education, and opportunities.
