Today, Chito decided to steer away from relationship matters for a while and speak about patriarchy and matriarchy in the African society.
It is evident that whenever things go wrong in the society, people tend to blame patriarchy but Chito has a completely different view.
He says he is a strong believer that there is good and bad in everything and coexistence is a must not a compromise.
Chito thinks that we are taking ourselves into a very dangerous space of gender conversations.
“We are so obsessed about the patriarchy and we talk about it in everything we do. Kill the patriarchy! Destroy the patriarchy!
While we have matriarchal and patriarchal societies, we have to realize there are positives of both of them. I am a strong believer in co-existence.” Chito Said.
He added,
I don’t believe in this; Kill, finish, destroy! No. I don’t believe in that especially when it comes to gender matters.
I think there needs to be co-existence amongst different beliefs and how people view themselves and view life.“
Chito says co-existence simply means in coming together and trying to figure out how we need to make the society better with these two societies as we move forward together.
