A high-ranking police officer and 1who is also the husband of a senior official at the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), has come under fire for his reprehensible behavior towards a young girl during a peaceful protest. Eyewitnesses reported that the Bishop-OCS not only verbally abused the protester but also smirked after telling her “acha akufe” (let her die).

The young girl’s only “crime” was to exercise her constitutional right to protest peacefully. In a display of authority gone awry, the Bishop-OCS confronted her with aggression, his words dripping with disdain. The chilling remark “acha akufe” was followed by a smile, a gesture that has ignited fury and condemnation from the public and human rights activists alike.

The individual is expected to embody compassion, morality, and leadership. His role as an Officer Commanding Station (OCS) further obliges him to protect citizens and uphold the law. However, his actions betrayed these principles, exposing a troubling abuse of power and a profound moral failure. The fact that he has a daughter of the same age as the girl he harassed only adds to the gravity of his misconduct.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for immediate action against the Bishop-OCS. Human rights organizations and citizens are demanding accountability, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable and undermines public trust in law enforcement and religious institutions.
