Kuria Under Fire As Details Emerge On Who Funded Limuru III, Not Uhuru, Gachagua

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has come under fire for linking Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to the Limuru III conference that took place on Friday last week.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Monday, former Kiambu county speaker Stephen Ndichu maintained that Kuria peddled lies when he said that Gachagua gave a total of Ksh 10 million towards the meeting that brought together leaders from Mt Kenya region.

“I would like to dispel the rumours that was peddled by my friend Moses Kuria that there was anyone person who funded that meeting. I was surprised when I saw him lying on the screen that someone had given out Ksh 10 million.

Ndichu who was also amongst the organizers said that neither Gachagua nor former President Uhuru Kenyatta gave money for the activity adding that they struggled to give funds. Ndichu added that some debts taken to fund the event has not been paid.

“I was one of the organizers of the Limuru III meeting and I can say that we struggle to raise funds. Actually there are some debts which still have. Neither Gachagua nor Uhuru funded the Limuru III meeting. This was initiative by people of Kenya.” He said.

This comes barely a week after Moses Kuria accused a senior politician from Mt Kenya region, believed to be Gachagua of funding the meeting and micromanage Kioni and Karua who were the main organizers. Kuria added that Gachagua threatened to withdraw his support in case Kuria was invited.

“I am aware that a very senior and powerful personality with prior experience in provincial administration is financing Limuru 3 and he has given instructions to Kioni that if I attend he will not finance,” stated Moses Kuria.
