The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced a second revision window for course applications, even as the current application portal officially closes at midnight on May 6, 2026.

KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome, speaking on Wednesday, May 6, confirmed that students who fail to apply in the first round or do not secure placement in their preferred programmes will still have another opportunity to revise their choices. The second revision window will open between May 16 and May 22, 2026.

Wahome emphasized that the decision is part of the placement body’s commitment to inclusivity and fairness in the transition of students from secondary education to tertiary institutions. She noted that the additional window is designed to ensure that all eligible candidates are accommodated within the placement system, regardless of their performance in the initial application phase.

“For those who may not meet today’s deadline or fail to secure their initial choices, there will be a second chance: No student will be left behind,” said Wahome.

The announcement comes at a critical time for thousands of students seeking admission to universities, technical training institutes, and other tertiary institutions across the country. KUCCPS has been overseeing the placement process, which matches qualified candidates with available courses based on merit, preference, and institutional capacity.

Education stakeholders have in the past raised concerns about students missing out on placements due to lack of awareness or delays in application. The introduction of a second revision window is therefore expected to reduce pressure on applicants and improve overall participation in the placement process.

KUCCPS has urged students to take advantage of the available timelines and carefully review their course choices based on available clusters, qualifications, and career goals.

The placement body is expected to release further guidance ahead of the second revision period to ensure a smooth and transparent application process for all candidates.
