For a very long time Kenyans have been complaining about high electricity bills in their homes and many cannot account for how they used the power.
They complained that they don’t use power that much but after recharging their meters the tokens usually run out fast.
The Kenya Power and Lightening Company (KPLC) has come out to clarify on why most people’s tokens run out fast.
They said that most Kenyans leave their phones to charge overnight and have they believe it does not drain a lot of power.
They however said this is not true because charging a phone adds to the electricity bill and consumes a lot of power than they can imagine.
KPLC said even though phones are designed to stop charging immediately they are full, this doesn’t stop the charger from taking in power which results to high power bills.
For an household that has many users charging their phones overnight at the same time, this would result to heavy power bills.
