In a candid interview with lawmaker Karen Nyamu, rapper King Kaka has spoken for the first time about his emotional split from Nana Owiti after 13 years of marriage. The couple startled fans in December 2024 when they announced their split, but King Kaka’s latest words provide light on their new reality.
During an open YouTube conversation on September 10, 2025, King Kaka said that, while the termination of his marriage caused “machungu” (pain), he and Nana were able to put their disagreements aside for the benefit of their three children. “Ahh, machungu, tulishamaliza,” he added, indicating that the pain was over. “Tunacopparent vizuri,” he said, admitting that they are co-parenting well with no resentment.
This public announcement demonstrates that the rapper is committed to keeping things civil, particularly for the benefit of his children. “Even this weekend, niko na watoto,” he remarked, emphasising that their well-being came first. Fans were eager to hear his side, and King Kaka did not disappoint, emphasising that while the relationship has ended, respect and cooperation continue.
While the specifics of their breakup remain private, King Kaka’s statements indicate that both Nana and he are committed to moving forward with mutual respect and understanding. Despite the ups and downs, it appears that this separation is not a “drama-filled” event, but rather a decision made after great thinking and analysis.
