Rapper King Kaka has shared a reflection about his early life, revealing that he once made a living producing fake certificates and payslips before rising to fame in the music industry.
In an Instagram narration, on Monday, June 15, 2026, the rapper said the experience happened when he was around 23 years old and working as a graphic designer.
He explained that he was already skilled in graphic design, working on album covers, posters, and branding materials for various artists.
However, he said he was later introduced to producing unofficial documents such as certificates and payslips.
“I used to make fake pay slips and fake certificates. Original fake certificates,” he said.
He explained that the documents were designed to appear authentic and were used by some individuals in attempts to secure employment or educational opportunities.
According to him, some people later returned to thank him after successfully obtaining jobs or university placements using the documents.
“I made a lot of people universities and jobs,” he said, reflecting on the impact of the work at the time.
Regret and reflection on past choices
Despite acknowledging the financial motivation behind the hustle, King Kaka said he now views that period with regret. He emphasised that he was young and lacked proper direction at the time.
The rapper added that he eventually left the business behind and chose to pursue a legitimate career path, stating that his income is now “clean” and that he has fully transitioned away from his earlier activities.
He also used the moment to advise young people against shortcuts in life, urging them to focus on legitimate means of success.
“Don’t be like me when I was young. Be legit,” he said.
King Kaka further reflected on how his life has changed since then, noting that he is now focused on his family and music career while continuing to build his brand in a positive direction.
