Khadija Kopa has firmly dismissed claims circulating on social media that she is planning to sell the multimillion-shilling Toyota Prado gifted to her by her daughter, Zuchu.

The taarab legend, who is also the mother of the celebrated singer whose real name is Zuhura Othman, addressed the rumours during a street interview shared by Bongo5 on Instagram on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Responding to speculation that the luxury vehicle had been put up for auction, Khadija Kopa rubbished the reports and maintained that the car remains in her possession. She stated that even if she ever chose to sell it, she would not resort to auctioning it.

“Tell them that if I ever want to sell this car, I do not need to auction it. You can see for yourself how this car looks; it is a beautiful vehicle. There is no need for an auction,” she said.

The veteran musician emphasized that the Prado is in excellent condition and speaks for itself, dismissing any suggestion that it would require a public bidding process to attract buyers.

She further explained that should she decide to part with the vehicle, she would simply notify people directly and interested buyers would approach her without complications.

“If I decide to sell it, I will simply inform people that I am selling the car, and they will come and pick it up. So for something like this, there is absolutely no reason to auction it,” she added.

The rumours had sparked debate online, with some social media users speculating about possible financial difficulties or family misunderstandings.

However, Kopa’s clarification appears to have settled the matter, reinforcing that the luxury gift from her daughter remains untouched.

Zuchu had previously surprised her mother with the high-end Prado in a widely publicised gesture that drew praise from fans across East Africa.
