In the recent past, JB Maina and Wainaina Wa Kiandege sued him for copyright violations, which sparked a range of responses on social media. He discussed the subject in an interview in the recent past.
He said that this was not the first time he had appeared in court. At Sammy Muraya’s birthday party at the Seanote Club, he claimed that the Kikuyu senior musicians first encountered him and extended an invitation to sit at their table. They questioned him about why he was performing their songs in clubs or if he intended to abuse them as the late Salim Junior did.
Days later Waithaka claimed he had a court order, but he was still allowed to contact the people who offended him, and the two of them conversed outside of court. Therefore, he made it obvious to them that his major goal whenever he performs their songs is to resurrect their popularity and spread the message they intended to spread among Kenyans.
Luckily JB Maina and Waithaka through a handshake came together and promised Kenyans that all between them was well. They took pictures together and Kenyans congratulated them on the milestone.

Waithaka hilarious wrote that he allegedly claimed that he once dated a tall lady who knocked the bulb with her head and they experienced an electric shock in the house.
