Earlier yesterday, kenyans were given a special holiday to plant 100 million trees as part of the gorvenment’s goal to plant 15 billion trees in ten years. According to the minister of environment Soipan Tuya, the holiday was meant to allow each and every kenyan to own the initiative.
Each kenyan was encouraged to plant at least two seedlings, leading to the 100-million target. According to sources, the initiative will help to fight climate change. During the exercise, a woman who hails from Mandera was spotted planting a tree while carrying a child on her back and many kenyans recommend that she should be rewarded.
Earlier today, it was revealed that the celebrated heroine of the tree planting day received a gift of a diaper and washing Soap from the Cs roads of Mandera county.
