A heated political clash has erupted online after Makueni Woman Representative Rose Museo boldly called for the resignation of National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.
Her demand followed controversial remarks Ichung’wah made regarding Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the wife of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Museo, who spoke during a political event earlier this week, accused Ichung’wah of disrespecting women in leadership and undermining the Second Lady’s efforts to help vulnerable youth and those struggling with addiction. “He crossed the line. Pastor Dorcas is doing noble work. If he cannot respect that, he should resign,” she stated firmly.
However, the call for Ichung’wah’s resignation has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans on social media — with many turning their criticism toward Museo herself.
Kioko wrote, “Aende akiendanga,” brushing off her demand as irrelevant.
Muriu commented, “Kikuyu hawajui kutetea mtu yao, haja yao ni Ruto must go, uongozi itatuua,” suggesting deeper ethnic and political divisions.
Sang, dismissing Museo’s position, said, “Resign? Being clueless opposition is hard.”
Kelele echoed the sentiment with a sharp “Acha kelele,” implying that Museo was overreacting.
Yet, not everyone opposed her. Some supported her stand, while others rallied behind Ichung’wah, like William, who wrote, “I support Ichung’wah.”
The confrontation highlights ongoing political tensions within the Kenya Kwanza alliance and raises broader questions about civility in public discourse and the role of religious figures in politics.
As the debate rages, many Kenyans are left wondering whether this conflict will fuel deeper divisions or force leaders to reflect on the tone and impact of their words.
