Rangerover Hearse

For a newly-elected MP to elect to move around using a hearse as a camouflage tactic, it meant Aduma Owuor knew his life was in danger. It appears that when his adversaries could not nail him, they chose to strike where it hurts.

Aduma Owuor is known for using unconventional transport methods, including hiring a hearse to hide his identity and avoid potential attacks when traveling to his constituency. Following threats and the 2013 murder of his parents, he frequently changes vehicles sometimes using over 20 different cars in a month along with using public transport and boda-bodas to ensure his safety.

Between 1991 and 1992, Joshua Owuor got a job at Subordinate Law Courts in Kisumu as a Student Intern and in 1993, he moved to Lake Tanners Company Limited as a Legal Officer, later and Company Secretary. From 1994 to 2001, Joshua Owuor joined the Private Legal Practice as an Advocate and in 2004, moved to Ministry of Local Government as a Town Clerk in Kisumu.

In 2006, Joshua Owuor worked at the Ministry of Local Government as a Town Clerk in Bondo and later in 2007, joined the Ministry of local Government again as a Town Clerk in Garissa.

Aduma’s first task in dislodging Ochieng was to bag the ODM ticket. And he silenced his doubters when he easily defeated the incumbent in the nominations as his political career officially took off.

During the March 4 election, Aduma confirmed his new status as the new sheriff in town when he finally won the seat by a landslide. A giant killer had sent home another giant killer.

Joshua Aduma was born in Nyakach and grew up in a modest family setting. His parents, unfortunately, were victims of a brutal attack by their newly hired farmhand. Despite this, Aduma’s family life and background have had a significant influence on his political and public service endeavors.

Aduma is married to a banker from Uganda. Together, they have four children, and he remains deeply committed to both his family and his constituency.
