Rusinga school stands out as one of the most prestigious schools in Kenya.
The school that was founded by a group of expatriates and local Christians in 1975 has nurtured many Kenyans, among them celebrities who have earned recognition in the international stage.
The school has a kindergarten, primary school and secondary school section.

Lupita Nyong’o
Born in Mexico in 1983, the Hollywood actress spent part of her childhood in Kenya. While living in Nairobi, Lupita studied at various prestigious schools including Rusinga.
Waihiga Mwaura
The Citizen TV news anchor is another alumni of Rusinga School. After pursuing his secondary school education in Rusinga, Waihiga joined Daystar University where he pursued a degree in ICT.
Anne Kiguta
The former news anchor was also an alumni of Rusinga school where she studied with Waihiga Mwaura. The two would later on co-host primetime news at Citizen TV.
Kamene Goro
Born and raised in Nairobi, Kiss FM presenter Kamene Goro studied at Rusinga school. She then joined University of Nairobi where she pursued a law degree.
Victoria Rubadiri
The Citizen TV news anchor is also a product of the Rusinga school. She would later pursue a degree in journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia.
