The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has urged all shortlisted candidates to attend their recruitment interviews on the dates and times assigned to them, while warning against any form of canvassing or attempts to influence the selection process.
In a public notice, KDF reminded applicants that the recruitment exercise will be conducted according to a strict schedule and that all candidates must report to their designated interview centers on time. The military emphasized that adherence to the timetable is essential to ensure a smooth and fair recruitment process.
The defence forces also cautioned candidates against seeking favors, using intermediaries, or attempting to influence recruitment officers. KDF stressed that the selection process is based solely on merit and that any form of canvassing could lead to immediate disqualification.
“Candidates are advised to appear for interviews on their scheduled dates and times. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification,” the notice stated.
KDF further warned members of the public to be cautious of fraudsters who claim they can secure employment in the military in exchange for money or other favors. The military reiterated that the recruitment process is free of charge and that no individual or organization has been authorized to collect payments on its behalf.
Officials encouraged applicants to report anyone demanding money or promising guaranteed recruitment. Such incidents should be reported to the nearest police station or relevant KDF authorities for investigation.
The Kenya Defence Forces also advised candidates to carry all the required original documents, including national identification cards, academic certificates, and any other documents specified in the recruitment guidelines. Failure to produce the necessary documents could affect a candidate’s eligibility during the interviews.
The recruitment exercise is expected to attract thousands of young Kenyans seeking careers in the military. KDF has assured the public that measures have been put in place to ensure the exercise is transparent, credible, and conducted in accordance with the law.
Security personnel will be deployed at interview venues to maintain order and ensure the recruitment process proceeds without disruption. Candidates have also been encouraged to follow all instructions issued by recruitment officials throughout the exercise.
KDF reaffirmed its commitment to recruiting qualified and deserving candidates through a fair and competitive process. By warning against canvassing and corruption, the military hopes to uphold integrity and public confidence in one of the country’s most important national recruitment exercises.
