Somehow, his dress code was meant to match the occasion. No military gown. But an elegant suit for the man who is the country’s most powerful military man.
In a navy blue suit, white shirt and a red tie, Chief of Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri was leading a historic event at the Defence headquarters.
The military chief was receiving Morocco’s first ever Defence Attache to Kenya, Colonel Said Moistaid.
During their engagement, Colonel Moistaid conveyed Morocco’s keen interest in expanding defence cooperation with Kenya and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening military collaboration between the two nations. He further expressed optimism that defence ties with the Kenya Defence Forces would grow during his tour of duty.
Colonel Moistaid will be the engine running military and defence diplomacy between Kenya and the Kingdom of Morocco.
For the man who is always in his ceremonial white Kenya Navy uniform or the jungle green military gown, General Kahariri opted for a suit. Perhaps, this is symbolic especially in such military events.
