Philanthropist and gospel singer Karangu Muraya has broken his silence following the burial of his brother, Joshua Kagema Muraya.

Karangu expressed gratitude to family, friends, clergy and well-wishers who stood with them during the difficult period following Joshua’s death.

In a heartfelt message shared on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, after the burial, Karangu thanked everyone who supported the family financially, physically, emotionally and morally as they prepared to lay Joshua to rest.

He also acknowledged the clergy who prayed with the family, offered guidance, visited them and stood by them throughout the difficult journey.

“Every contribution, visit, phone call, prayer, message, word of encouragement and sacrifice gave us strength when we needed it most,” Karangu said.

He said the support from friends, relatives and well-wishers helped the family navigate what he described as one of the most painful seasons of their lives.

“You walked with us through one of the most painful seasons of our lives, and we will never take your kindness and support for granted,” he said.

Karangu also prayed for blessings upon everyone who supported the family and contributed towards Joshua’s funeral arrangements.

“May God bless you abundantly and reward you for every sacrifice you made for our family,” he said.

The gospel singer further thanked those who helped the family give Joshua a dignified farewell.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us and helping us give our brother a dignified farewell,” Karangu said.

He concluded his message by praying for God’s blessings upon everyone who stood with the family and asking that his late brother rest in eternal peace.

“May God bless you all, and may the soul of our beloved brother Joshua Kagema Muraya rest in eternal peace,” he said.

Kagema’s emotional final send-off
Kagema, 33, was laid to rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his family home in Kiria-ini, Murang’a County.

The TikToker and Kikuyu actor died on August 3 after battling tuberculosis and meningitis, leaving behind his family, friends, fellow entertainers and a young child.

His burial came only months after the Muraya family had suffered another devastating loss following the death of another brother, Paul.

That recent loss added another layer of grief to Kagema’s funeral, with the family once again forced to confront the pain of losing a son and brother.

The emotional scenes began earlier at the Kenyatta University Funeral Home, where members of the Muraya family gathered for the body-viewing session.

Kagema’s elder brother, gospel musician and content creator Karangu Muraya, was visibly overcome with emotion as he stood alongside their mother.

Karangu broke down as he comforted his grieving mother, while his wife, Carol Kim, remained close to the family during the difficult moment.

The grief continued at the burial ceremony in Kiria-ini, where family members and mourners gathered to witness Kagema’s final journey.
