Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime has laid her mother to rest. Taking to social media, the mother of one shared that the funeral service was more of a celebration. According to Kansiime, her mother was her hero and a blessing to anyone who got to interact with her.
“It was a joyful sendoff of my hero. A vigorous expression of the life she lived and the gift she was for all the people that had the blessing of encountering her,” she wrote in part.
The comedian further expressed gratitude to her friends who stood by her while she was mourning her late mother.
“Thank you soooo much for all the condolence messages I received from u all my ninjas, friends and suspects. I felt all the love and support despite these covid restrictions. There’s no doubt I will see u again mama Sometimes, #StrengthIsAChoice indeed,” she added.
Announcing the death of her mother just a week ago, Kansiime hinted that she is not questioning God’s will but rather accepting it despite the struggle to understand it.
“God’s ways are indeed not our ways! My mother has gone to be with the Lord this morning,” she posted on Instagram accompanied by a picture of her and her late mother.
Celebrities in the entertainment space camped at the comment section to share their messages of hope with Kansiime. Taking the lead was Kenyan comedian Njugush who assured Kansiime that her mother is now in a better place.
“May Mum Rest in peace!!!! She must be really happy. She was right with God that’s the greatest solace!!!,” Njugush wrote.
Dorothy Mwima Barrak, the 2008 miss Uganda followed suit and assured Kansiime a shoulder to lean on despite the loss.
“What a beautiful sendoff of a life well lived and celebrate. May she continue dancing and celebrating with the angels till you meet again….#StrengthIsAChoice indeed. We got you Anne and family,” she wrote.
The death of her mother come barely a month after she gave birth to her first baby. The comedian and long-term partner Abraham Tukahiirwa welcomed a bouncing baby boy.
“His name is Selassie Ataho. My sins have truly been forgiven,” she wrote.
Revealing the pregnancy, Kansiime seemed ecstatic to have conceived after a long time.
“My head spins from not knowing where to start. I have been looking for the perfect way to break it but soon Skylanta and I shall have a little ninja added to our family,” she revealed.
