A delegation from Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Democratic Movement stormed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Wamunyoro home on Tuesday, as part of ongoing consultations among opposition leaders ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua confirmed the meeting through a live broadcast on his Facebook page, titled “Wamunyoro Consultative Meeting,” where he was seen engaging with the visiting delegation and residents gathered at his home.

The visit forms part of a broader wave of consultations that have intensified among opposition figures in recent weeks, as various political outfits work to build a united front ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Wamunyoro has increasingly become a key political destination, with the Nyeri County home hosting a series of leaders and delegations seeking audience with the former Deputy President since his fallout with President William Ruto.

The Wiper Party’s visit adds to the growing list of opposition engagements taking place across the country, coming just days after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro officially exited UDA and launched the People’s Party of Kenya, further reshaping the political landscape ahead of 2027.

Details of what was specifically discussed during the Wamunyoro meeting had not been disclosed by the time of publishing, though the consultative nature of the gathering suggests continued efforts by opposition leaders to coordinate their political strategy.

The meeting comes amid heightened political activity in the country, with various parties and movements holding rallies, consultations and strategy sessions as they position themselves ahead of the next General Election.

Gachagua has in recent months hosted a series of leaders and delegations at his Wamunyoro home, positioning the location as a key hub for opposition consultations in the lead-up to 2027.
