Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is set to meet ODM leader Raila Odinga to discuss the future of Kenya’s opposition. Kalonzo believes Raila’s association with President William Ruto has damaged his political legacy and only a return to the opposition can restore it.According to Kalonzo,a united opposition could form a strong coalition similar to the 2002 alliance that ended KANU’s dominance. He is reportedly making efforts to convince Raila to shift focus to the 2027 general election and reclaim his influence in the opposition. Kalonzo’s decision follows consultations with other opposition leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa. The meeting with Raila is expected to be a crucial step in shaping the opposition’s strategy ahead of the next elections.
