The politics surrounding genetically modified organisms (GMOs) has had a negative impact on Kenyans, particularly the opposition, which is leading the charge to stop this from happening.
Following the shocking comments made by Moses Kuria, the cabinet secretary for trade, regarding the importation of GMO maize, in which he claimed that everyone dies in Kenya for a variety of reasons and that adding GMO effects to the same does not change anything, the opposition side has urged the Kenyan people to reconsider what is best for the nation.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka spoke at a news conference and criticized the government’s decision to introduce GMO maize to the populace, calling the move “Ugonjwa wa saratani,” as he had initially declared, because the same food product has been reported to also cause cancer.
He has requested help from the legislative branch in the president’s impeachment procedure.
He warns Kenyans to be prepared for the worst because it’s still to come.
