Police in Kiambu have arrested five suspected rustlers who allegedly stole six bulls in Kitengela’s Oloosirkon area on July 17, 2024.
Those arrested are Daudi Saruni Manje (22) a herdsman from the Kolesei location of Kajiado West, Wildon Kitesho Natu (21) from the Kipeto location of Kajiado West, George Singira Koitee (24) from Olorien location of Kajiado West, Francis Kanduru (26) from Olorien location of Kajiado West and a driver, Ian Mwangi Ngugi (24) from Kiserian River Side.
The five suspects were arrested while ferrying the bulls to a slaughterhouse within the Kamburu area using a Toyota Canter KCF766 N.
The said lost livestock were recovered by police officers from Kamburu Police Station within the Lari sub-county of Kiambu County on the night of July 17, 2024, after they were stolen on the night of July 16.
All six bulls were positively identified by the complainant.
The suspects are being processed, and the vehicle they used in ferrying the bulls has been detained pending a court ruling.
The police said two bulls were slaughtered on the night of July 16, 2024, at the homestead of one Samuel Kore Oloishorua (35) a resident of Sasaiti sub-location Kajiado West who is at large. The animals were hidden in his compound before being ferried to Kiambu.
The said meat was ferried to Bama Market in Nairobi county.
Oloosirkon police station is handling the case.
