Mukurweini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia has launched a scathing attack on allies of President William Ruto, accusing them of undermining the Wantam political movement.
Kaguchia insisted that the movement, which has been gaining traction in Mt. Kenya and beyond, is not only organized but also has a well-defined plan heading into the 2027 General Election.
Speaking at a public forum, the legislator dismissed claims that Wantam lacks direction or national appeal.
Instead, he described it as a people-driven initiative anchored on transparency, inclusivity, and economic empowerment.
According to Kaguchia, the movement’s agenda is to provide Kenyans with an alternative leadership model that prioritizes citizen welfare over political theatrics.
“We are not a confused or disorganized group as some have been suggesting. Wantam has a clear vision, and we are engaging communities across the country to build a strong platform ahead of 2027,” he said.
Kaguchia further accused Ruto’s allies of attempting to downplay the rising influence of the movement out of fear of losing political dominance.
The MP emphasized that Wantam is focused on issues such as youth empowerment, equitable resource distribution, and tackling unemployment.
He also assured supporters that the leadership of the movement is united and ready to present a credible political alternative.
Political observers note that Kaguchia’s remarks reflect growing unease within the ruling coalition, as emerging movements challenge established political structures.
With Mt. Kenya politics remaining central to Kenya’s succession debates, the MP’s statements are likely to fuel further realignments ahead of the next election.
Kaguchia concluded by urging Kenyans to remain vigilant and reject leaders who thrive on propaganda, stressing that Wantam stands for genuine transformation.
