The Police Inspector General Douglas Kanja has introduced a revolutionary idea within the National Police Service (NPS) that will bring massive improvement in the service.
In a move to tackle rampant corruption in the police service, the police boss has instructed the formation of county committees that will be charged with addressing incidences of corruption within the service at the grassroots level.
Speaking in Murang’a hotel after the launch of the committees in a number of Central region counties, Police Regional Commander Samuel Ndanyi lauded the move stating that it will bring accountability, enhance professionalism and restore public trust in the sector.
“This is in line with a directive from the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, aimed at institutionalizing accountability, enhancing professionalism, and restoring public confidence in the police service,” said Ndanyi.
“The committees will be the watchdogs to ensure there is transparency and discipline among officers at the county level,” he added.
