Kenyan gospel singer and media personality Joyce Omondi has opened up about her early career journey, revealing that she earned KSh 90,000 in her first job. The revelation surprised many Kenyans after she shared the details during a quick fire question segment where she talked about her career, personal life, and experiences.

 

According to Joyce, her first professional job was as a policy analyst, a role she secured after completing her undergraduate studies. She said the position paid her about KSh 90,000 per month, which she considered a good salary for someone starting their career.

While responding to the question about her first pay, Joyce said the amount felt like a strong beginning for a young professional stepping into the workforce.

“It was pretty good. It was like KSh 90,000. I was a policy analyst,” she said while reflecting on the early stages of her career.

Before joining the media and music industry, Joyce had pursued an academic path focused on economics and international development. She studied Economics and Integrated International Studies during her undergraduate education before later advancing her studies with a Master’s degree in International Development.

Over the years, Joyce transitioned from policy work into entertainment and broadcasting, where she has built a strong reputation as a gospel artist and television host. She is widely known for hosting the popular gospel show Rauka, which airs on Citizen TV.

Joyce also mentioned her favourite Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, which speaks about hope and God’s plans for the future. According to her, the verse continues to guide and inspire her life journey.
