Kenyans online can’t stop talking after gospel singer Jimmy Gait, real name James Ngaita, resurfaced in a touching clip shared by comedian Terence Creative — and fans couldn’t hide their excitement.
For years, the once-celebrated hitmaker behind songs like Appointment, Furi Furi, Muhadhara, and Huratiti had vanished from the public eye, leaving many wondering what really happened to him.
In the viral video, Terence warmly welcomed the gospel artist, jokingly asking him, “Where have you been all this time?” Jimmy responded, saying he’s been “around, working and organizing projects for people.”
Fans were quick to notice how calm, confident, and healthy he looked, a refreshing change from the emotional man many remembered from his teary TV interview years ago.
Back then, Jimmy had broken down on The Trend, confessing how painful it was to be mocked and insulted despite his hard work and dedication to gospel music.
“For more than nine years, I gave my all to music. I put my heart and soul into it,” he cried. “But people forgot the good I did and only saw the bad. It broke me. I’m human, and I felt deeply hurt.”
Jimmy Gait’s struggles began when he released the controversial song Yesu Ndio Sponsor, which he said was meant to address real-life issues, not to mock religion.
Yet, online trolls took it out of context, turning him into the butt of jokes.
After that storm, the singer quietly disappeared, staying off social media and keeping his life private. Many thought he had quit music altogether.
However, his surprise appearance with Terence Creative seems to have reignited hope among his fans that he might be planning a comeback.
