The family of Jeff Mwathi, who was a well-known interior designer before his untimely death, have voiced their frustration regarding the investigation by the police into the circumstances surrounding his passing.
The family says it is unhappy with the approach taken by investigators, and they feel that more could be done to uncover the truth about what happened.
Anne Mwathi, who is Jeff’s mother, expressed her lack of optimism concerning the outcome of the ongoing investigations that are being carried out by the DCI. She believes that the investigations did not yield any positive results.
Ms. Mwathi is perplexed as to why there has been no apprehension made in relation to Jeff’s death, despite her being sure that her son was deliberately killed.
“I believe that my son was murdered at DJ Fatso’s house. He did not commit suicide. Why did the DCI put me through all this including exhuming the body of my son and there are no arrests.” Jeff’s mother said.
She highlighted the fact that the post-mortem carried out on Jeff’s body after it was exhumed had yet to yield a report for the family and they were unaware of any findings or results related to the examination.
The lack of information about the post-mortem is a cause for concern for the family, who were hoping to gain closure about Jeff’s death. They were unsure about what steps were taken and expressed concerns that they are unsure of the cause of death and whether foul play was involved.
She emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the handling of such cases to ensure that justice is served and families can have closure.
Jeff’s grandmother Teresia Mwathi, expressed her family’s bitterness towards the situation and highlighted that Kenya remains an unfair nation for those who are poor, suggesting that they have experienced first-hand discrimination and inequality.
