Jeff Koinange has disclosed one of the most personal revelations of his public life that he recently discovered he fathered a daughter who is now 30 years old, a child he had no knowledge of until now.
The confession came while recording a preview for his upcoming podcast, Off The Record, seated across from longtime friend Maina Kageni. It arrived near the end of the clip, almost in passing, as if Koinange himself was still processing it.
“The other day I found out that I have a 30-year-old daughter. From her mother,” he said.
Maina’s reaction said everything. Visibly stunned, he gestured that there was far more to the story than the preview would allow.
It is not the first time Koinange has been unusually candid since returning to screens in December following a health-related break.
He has spoken about his first marriage to a flight attendant during his years in the United States, describing the split as excruciating but noting the two have since maintained a civil relationship.
He is currently married to Shaila Koinange.
The podcast preview also featured former Classic FM host Cess Mutungi, who spoke about a period of depression, and Maina, who was put on the spot about his personal life.
Koinange has not said when the first episode drops. But Off The Record is already delivering exactly what its name promises.
