Catherine Wambua Mbugua’s story has stirred heated debate online after she accused gospel musician Jane Muthoni and her ex-husband of blocking her children from communicating with her, a claim that sparked emotional reactions across social media as many questioned what really happened in the family’s long-running dispute.

In her recent interview, Catherine narrated how her marriage began in 1994 after a traditional ceremony that was later blessed with two children, describing how she worked at Barclays and invested heavily during the marriage only for her husband to allegedly write his name on their properties and later move to the US in 2001 after she supported his relocation efforts.

The mother of two said things worsened when her sister-in-law moved in, claiming her personal documents were hidden and her children were slowly convinced to live with their grandmother, a move she says left her emotionally drained and confused as she watched the bond with her children fade.

Catherine further alleged that she was not informed when her children travelled to the US, saying she only found out after they had already left even though she had previously tried reaching out and was told they needed a quiet environment to study.

In response to their mother’s public claims, Catherine’s daughter said she was unhappy with the videos circulating online and accused her mother of past mistreatment, urging her to stop posting and remember how their relationship deteriorated long before they left for the village.

Her son also broke his silence, stating that he drifted away from his mother in 2013 after a fallout that saw him leave her home, adding that both his father and Jane Muthoni had encouraged him to reconnect but he was not ready at the time.

Meanwhile, Jane Muthoni has addressed the allegations on her YouTube channel, insisting she is not responsible for the strained family relationship and urging the public to avoid judging the situation without understanding all sides of the story.
