Content creator Jackson Ndegwa has sparked a heated debate online after attacking women who live with uncircumcised men.
Speaking in a video that has since gone viral, Jackson said women who stay with men who have not been circumcised are making a big mistake.
“Nyinyi akina mama wenye mnaishi na wanaume ambao hawajatahiri mnakosea sana. That should be handled as a criminal offence,” Jackson Ndegwa said.
His remarks have divided Kenyans on social media, with many accusing him of being tribal and promoting hate, while others agreed with him.
The statement touches on sensitive cultural issues in Kenya, where male circumcision is a deeply rooted cultural practice for many communities, while for others it is not mandatory.
Jackson Ndegwa, who is known for his controversial takes on relationships and culture, did not explain why he believes it should be criminalized.
Following the backlash, Kenyans online have called him out for shaming personal choices and relationships.
“What two adults do in private is their business, not yours. Stop policing women’s choices,” one woman commented.
Others, however, supported his sentiments, saying women should be careful about hygiene and cultural compatibility.
The Kenya Constitution guarantees freedom from discrimination and protects private choices. Medical experts also say male circumcision is a personal health choice, although it is encouraged for health reasons.
