Kenyan musician Nameless has issued a health update after cancelling several scheduled performances due to illness, leaving fans concerned about his condition.
The veteran singer, whose real name is David Mathenge, announced that he would not be able to honour his weekend engagements because he was still struggling with his health and needed more time to recover.
The decision affected performances in Nakuru, Nanyuki and Nairobi, where fans had been expecting to see him entertain them.
Nameless had been scheduled to perform at Wave XO in Nakuru on Friday, October 16. He was also expected to appear at the Loop Safari Series in Nanyuki on Saturday afternoon before heading to Kettle House in Nairobi for another performance later that evening.
However, his condition reportedly made it difficult for him to proceed with the planned appearances.
According to reports by Pulse Kenya, the singer had been experiencing a high fever, extreme weakness, a cough and loss of voice for several days. The symptoms affected his ability to perform, forcing him to reconsider his weekend schedule.
The musician expressed disappointment over the cancellations, especially because he had been looking forward to meeting and entertaining his fans. He also apologised to those who had made plans to attend the shows and assured them that he hoped to make up for the missed performances.
Although the announcement raised questions about his condition, Nameless did not publicly disclose a specific diagnosis. He indicated that he needed to concentrate on getting better before returning to his regular activities.
His decision to step back from the stage comes as a reminder of the physical demands that come with performing, particularly for musicians whose schedules involve frequent travel and live shows.
Following the announcement, fans took to social media to express their concern and wish him a speedy recovery.
Some shared messages of encouragement, urging him to take enough time to rest instead of rushing back to work. Others admitted that the news had initially worried them before they understood that he was dealing with an illness.
Nameless has been a prominent figure in Kenya’s entertainment industry since the early 2000s, earning a loyal following through his music and energetic performances.
For now, fans will be hoping to see him regain his strength and return to the stage when he is well enough. However, further details about his recovery and possible replacement dates for the cancelled shows were not immediately available.
