Some few minutes ago, reports emerged that the inspector general of police Mr Douglas Kanja has taken an immediate action after BBC exposed him and the entire police service of laxity over the ongoing child sexual abuse in Maai Mahiu.
As reported by Kenyans.co.ke, Douglas Kanja has dispatched a team from national police service to visit Maai Mahiu for thorough investigations. Kanja while making this announcement said that three people of interest have already been arrested for questioning.
“So far, three individuals have recorded statements as persons of interest in connection with the exploitation network. Authorities are also working to identify, rescue, and support vulnerable children who may have been caught up in the abuse.” Reads part of the report.
According to BBC, children of as low as 13 years are being trafficked to Maai Mahiu by some well connected women for sexual actions. BBC says that these young children comes even as far as outside the borders of this country.
