Kawira has spoken out emotionally about her past association with controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari, opening up on loyalty, heartbreak and the backlash she continues to face online. During a radio interview, the TikToker struggled to hold back tears as she reflected on how deeply she stood by Kanyari at a time when many were criticising him.
Kawira revealed that her support for Kanyari went beyond words. She shared that she once travelled from Nairobi to Embu on a boda boda just to be there for him and assist with collecting money he had sent her. According to her, the decision was driven purely by loyalty and friendship, not romance, despite the widespread rumours that followed their public interactions on social media.
She insisted that her bond with Kanyari was misunderstood by many, stressing that they were never romantically involved. Kawira said she feels hurt that even after distancing herself, she continues to be insulted and judged by netizens who believe she had ulterior motives. She maintained that she never benefited from him in any inappropriate way and only acted out of goodwill.
Addressing why their friendship appears strained, Kawira pointed fingers at women close to Kanyari, claiming they misled him and influenced his actions. She alleged that these individuals advised him to unfollow her on social media and cut ties, painting her in a bad light despite her loyalty. Kawira described Kanyari as a good person who is often misunderstood due to the people around him.
She added that she harbours no bitterness and believes that with time, the truth about their friendship will be clear. Her emotional confession has sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathising with her while others remain sceptical. Still, Kawira says she is at peace and focused on moving forward with her life.
