The death of Pakistan Journalist Arshad Sharifs has continued to ingnite global attention after the international journalist was brutally murdered in Nairobi after police men sprayed bullets at the car he was in. According to the police who executed the journalist, they said that it was a case of confused identity that resulted to the death.
The report by the police said that they were trailing a carjacking case from the city and had placed a roadblock and when they instructed the car to stop it defiled the ordered prompting the police to open fire.
Even as the call for justice continues, the Pakistani Prime Minister has posted on his Twitter account that he has already communicated with President William Ruto to work on the case and speedily bring those implicated to books. He went ahead to say that he’s also in communication with the head of state the fast track the process of returning the body back to Pakistan.
“Just had a telephonic call with Kenyan President William Ruto about the tragic death of Arshad Sharif in 🇰🇪. I requested him to ensure fair & transparent investigation into shocking incident. He promised all-out help including fast-tracking the process of return of the body to 🇵🇰” the Pakistan Prime Minister posted.
