Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, daughter of President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni, has revealed why she accepted the call to become an Episcopal Bishop, saying her early commitment to Christ shaped the path she chose in life.
Rwabwogo explained that she committed her life to Christ when she was just 11 years old. She believes young people who find faith early can avoid some of the serious mistakes that often affect them later in life.
Her journey in ministry began in 2006 when she started what would later become Covenant Nations Church (CNC) as a small house fellowship in the Luzira area of Kampala.
What started in a home has since grown into a larger ministry with congregations in different parts of Uganda and outside the country. Rwabwogo serves as the founder and senior pastor of the church.
Now, 20 years after the ministry began, she’s preparing to take on a new role.
Rwabwogo is scheduled to be consecrated as an Episcopal Bishop on August 23, 2026. The ceremony will also coincide with Covenant Nations Church’s 20th anniversary and is expected to bring together Christian leaders from Uganda and abroad.
Her new role will see her oversee Covenant Nations Churches in Uganda and other countries where the ministry has established congregations.
For Rwabwogo, the journey from an 11-year-old who chose Christianity to leading a growing church has been shaped by a belief that faith can give young people direction before they make life-changing decisions.
Her story has also drawn attention because of her position as the daughter of Uganda’s long-serving president.
