A 32-year-old man from Uswet village in Tinderet, Nandi county has died following a brutal beating by a man who claimed that he caught him with his wife in their matrimonial bed.
The man, only identified as Meshack, is said to have been found in the act with his neighbour’s wife by her husband, Edwin, on Friday night.
The attack is said to have occurred at about 11pm when the husband who works in the neighbouring town returned home unexpectedly only to find the two in his bedroom.
The angry man attacked his rival on the head with blunt. The victim was rushed to Kapsabet referral hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The woman managed to flee from the house during the melee.
The incident has left residents in shock and disbelief. They said this is the first such incident to occur in the area.
Police confirmed the incident saying they have launched investigations into the matter.
