The image, shared on November 27, showed the two politicians smiling together, with Nyamu captioning it, “Luckily, Omtatah has said he will nominate me again when he becomes president.”

This statement quickly sparked mixed reactions online, especially from one female netizen who criticized Nyamu’s political ambitions.

The critic questioned Nyamu’s loyalty and accused her of relying on others for political advancement rather than being elected.

In response, Nyamu remained unfazed and replied calmly, “Hehe, time will surely tell,” suggesting that time would reveal her true political journey.

Okiya Omtatah, a vocal critic of President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza government, has recently expressed his intentions to run for president in 2027.

Nyamu, who is a strong supporter of President Ruto, earned her Senate nomination due to her loyalty to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Some of her followers on social media questioned her decision to appear alongside Omtatah, given his presidential ambitions, and warned her that such associations could cost her political support.

One comment from a user cautioned Nyamu, saying that her association with Omtatah might hurt her standing with voters who view Omtatah’s potential presidential bid as a threat to President Ruto’s leadership.

Others questioned her reliance on nominations rather than direct elections, with some accusing her of being a political opportunist.

Despite the backlash, Nyamu remained confident and unbothered by the criticism, offering a brief but strong reply, which showed her belief that time would prove her political decisions right.

Meanwhile, Omtatah, who has been exploring his presidential ambitions, recently announced that he is forming a committee to evaluate his 2027 bid.

He has also expressed the importance of consulting with the public to address key national issues before making a final decision.
