Entrepreneurs and investors seeking commercial premises in Eldoret have an opportunity to acquire shops at the Pioneer Affordable Housing Project after the Affordable Housing Board opened a bidding process for the available business spaces.

According to a notice published on MyGov on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, interested bidders can apply to purchase or lease commercial units within the development in Uasin Gishu County.

The deadline for submitting bids is November 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The board indicated that shops available for outright purchase are priced between KSh 900,000 and KSh 1.1 million, depending on their sizes. Meanwhile, commercial spaces offered under lease arrangements range from KSh 16 million to KSh 26.9 million.

The opportunity is aimed at eligible individuals and businesses interested in securing premises for commercial activities within the housing development.

Interested bidders can obtain tender documents free of charge through the Affordable Housing Board’s website or the government’s procurement portal.

Applicants who download the documents and intend to submit bids are required to email their details to [procurement@affordablehousingboard.go.ke](mailto:procurement@affordablehousingboard.go.ke). The information will enable the board to register prospective bidders and communicate any clarifications or additional information regarding the tender.

Completed tender documents must be placed in plain, sealed envelopes clearly indicating the relevant tender number and description.

Submissions are to be delivered to the tender box on the 21st floor of Prism Towers along 3rd Ngong Avenue in Nairobi. Bulky submissions must be handed over and registered at the Office of the Head of Supply Chain Management Services on the same floor.

The board said the bids would be opened immediately after the deadline in its boardroom, with interested bidders or their representatives allowed to attend the exercise.

The Pioneer Affordable Housing Project was launched by President William Ruto as part of the government’s broader affordable housing programme.

The commercial units provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to establish businesses within the development, although prospective bidders are expected to review the tender requirements carefully before submitting their applications.
