Social media platforms lit up yesterday and today with laughter, memes, and nostalgia after a vintage photo of Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei from his days at Kapsabet Boys High School went viral.

The throwback surfaced amid President William Ruto’s high-profile visit to the school for its centenary celebrations, where both the Head of State and the senator proud old boys addressed students and alumni.

President Ruto, who attended the school himself, delivered an emotional speech reflecting on how Kapsabet Boys shaped his leadership journey. He even donned the iconic school uniform for the occasion, captivating the nation.

Senator Cherargei, speaking shortly before or after the President, delivered a fiery and motivational address, famously declaring, “I’m the Future President Kapsabet Boys Shaped Me.” Clips of his remarks quickly circulated online, with many praising the senator’s passion.

The image, shared widely on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, shows a young Samson Cherargei standing beside a friend outside the school’s brick buildings.
