Dr. Keith Mandela Makori died on the spot after landing on his head following the jump. Witnesses said he was alone on the balcony of the house before he leapt off.
Prior to the incident, Dr Mandela made a distress call to his girlfriend registering suicidal ideation. The woman called one of Mandela’ friends and informed him about the matter.
The friend, who has been hosting the deceased, rushed back to the house and upon arrival, he found the victim sprawled on the ground with severe injuries on the head and both legs. He was rushed to Karen hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His colleagues described him as a brilliant professional who touched the world through his work in medicine and technology.
Police and his fellow medical practitioners are probing the matter, keen to establish what drove the deceased to allegedly end his life.
