The ongoing heavy rains have created havoc in various parts of the country. With the arid and semi arid regions being the most affected several deaths and destruction of property has been recorded. In Mombasa flooding in currently being witnessed at the newly built Makupa Bridge and especially in the outbound lane.
The bridge which was done during the dry season seem not to have taken into consideration the effects of the flooding especially after the meteorological department predicted heavy rains.
In the current images first posted by the Nation television, vehicles are seen submerged creating a danger to the motorists who risk using the lane in the current situation.
Pedestrians cannot cross the road and motorists are also urged to be vigilant as the outcome of crossing the flooded road can have devastating results. Motorists all over the country are urged to avoid flooded sections of roads and especially those which have not been in use or have not had a history of flooding before.
