A Tanzanian woman, Neema Kirugala, is going through a very emotional situation after her newborn was reportedly switched at the hospital.

Neema, 26, gave birth at Mount Meru Regional Referral Hospital, but she believes her baby was swapped with another child, which caused her family a lot of pain and confusion.

Neema had a cesarean section delivery and later found out that her baby had been exchanged with another that died a few days after birth.

She asked for DNA tests to confirm that the baby she was given was really hers. The test results showed that the baby who died was 99.9% Neema’s child.

However, Neema and her family refused to believe the results. Neema said she didn’t agree with the findings and explained that the baby she received didn’t look like hers or match the weight.

She shared her grief, saying, “My baby was not 2kg, but they have said it was. I do not agree, and I have not accepted the results.”

Her family stood by her and also rejected the DNA results. In a deeply emotional moment, Neema cried and leaned on her family for support, saying, “I have not accepted it. Why did they give my baby to another woman to breastfeed him? That is not our baby.” The family is now asking the government to intervene and help them with the situation.
