Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has left Kenyans talking after finally revealing his baby boy to the public in a touching and emotional Instagram video. The proud father couldn’t hide his excitement as he shared the sweet clip of his son, who is now about four months old.
In the video posted on Thursday, June 12, Salasya’s baby is seen lying on a bed in a cute blue onesie. The little boy flashes a short smile, a small moment, but one that clearly means the world to the MP. Salasya captioned the post with joy and pride, calling attention to the child’s light skin and facial features, which he believes resemble his own.
“He’s white like me,” he joked, adding that the boy’s nose is undeniably Luhya. He further said there was no need for a DNA test because the resemblance was clear.
Salasya didn’t just show off his son, he also opened up about how he met the mother. According to him, their paths crossed during last year’s Gen Z protests. The unexpected connection turned into a life-changing experience, and now, he’s a father.
“My son should be brought to the village so we can shave his hair, as per our culture,” he added, showing a desire to raise his son with traditional values.
The video drew praise and laughter online. Some fans were touched by the tender moment, while others poked fun at the timing, wondering how he found love during political protests. Still, most agreed that the baby is definitely Salasya’s lookalike.
